Homework Policy

Homework is meant to reinforce what each student has learned on any given day. Homework should take, on average, between 50-60 minutes per night to complete all subjects assigned.

I cannot stress enough the importance of reading at home.  In addition to this daily responsibility, parents can expect to see homework coming home on a regular basis in Math, Spelling, and occasionally

Science or Social Studies.

Students will be taught to keep their homework assignments recorded in their Agenda Books and the assignments kept in their binders.  Organization will be stressed this year.  Students' agenda and all subject areas will be located in their binder for easy access.

Homework/Grading

Late & Missing Projects
All assignments are due on the date specified. Nightly homework is expected the next day. If a student does not have his/her homework, it should be completed the next evening for five points less.  If assignments are repeatedly missing, then a parent/teacher/student conference will be scheduled.

In the case of absences, students are expected to make up missing work upon return to school. Students are given an equal number of days for which they were absent to make up work.

Quality of Work
Students are expected to turn in their best work, which means assignments show effort and are complete.

Grading Policy

Grades will be based on assessment of the Manchester Diocese and St. Benedict Academy Standards, through daily class work, projects, and tests/quizzes.
