Homework
Students will receive a planner that will be kept with a folder in their tote bag. Homework will be copied every morning. It will include reading for 20 minutes, math practice of facts and a page of what skill we are learning. Spelling words will be in a language arts notebook, or on Spellingcity web site, as well as google classroom site. There will be a choice board to complete one activity on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thursday will be study for a test that will be each Friday. Third graders will need help studying for test in all subjects, please keep in mind that studying is not reading as we have already done that at school.

Homework:

There will be a math practice page each day, as well as practicing math facts each night.
Practicing math facts should be for 5 to 10 minutes using:
flashcards
app or website
reading of sheets in folder
Please check with your child as to their goal ( how many should they get in a minute)
At this time they should be practicing addition and subtraction

There is a spelling lesson each week, with a test on Fridays. The test will include spelling patterns, not just memorizing words. Spelling grade will include writing assignments as well.

Your child is expected to practice reading in some way for 20 minutes each night.
​
There will be homework in other subjects at various times, children will need help with studying, especially in Social Studies and Science.
​
Please guide guide your child in learning how to use a planner to work towards becoming independent.
